Most people think there is only one path to success.

Success is not about following a map from where you are to where you want to be.

Slide 2: Intro, talk about how success is more complicated than simply following a map.

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” -Thomas Edison

Slide 3: Intro, give an example of how failure is a part of success.

Edison knew that failure is not the opposite of success. It is a part of it.

I too have learned that success is a road with many pitfalls and traps some might label as “failure.”

Who is Alexander Rybak?

Slide 7: Bio, Start off with my mantra immediately. I will then back it up.

Since I was a child, I have strove for success.

Slide 8: Bio, backstory (where I came from).

I thought success was something I could plan and anticipate. Something I could control.

Through failure, I learned the road to success isn’t a straight path. I learned to adapt.

The world of comics has captivated me since I was a child.

Storytelling is a medium that I could use to change others perspectives.

I soon realized, I want to create a change in the world around me.

My mission, combined with my values, would soon pave the way for my future.

Integrity. Honesty. Perseverance. Dedication.

These values led to me joining the United States Army when I was eighteen.

SLIDE 16: TALK ABOUT HOW ROOTS AND VALUES LED ME TO THE MILITARY.

It was in the Army that I first had to truly struggle with overcoming “failure.”

Slide 17:

I face many crucibles in the military. I learned how to overcome failure and keep moving forward.

I now know that no matter what pitfalls I encounter, I will always succeed.

I now strive to combine my values with my creativity to forge stories for others.

Through storytelling, I can help others.

To understand, as I do, how to overcome failure.

And succeed in everything they do.

Success to me, is being able to share my experiences with others.
