In Loving Memory Agnes K. Monger Agnes Katherine Monger, a lifelong Williams County resident, was born on January 30, 1932 at the family home in Zahl, ND to Anna (Poeckes) and John Neubauer. She was the 2 nd of five children, attended Zahl School, and graduated in 1950 – the last graduating class in Zahl. She attended summer school at Minot State College and then taught two years at Freeman and Twin Lake rural schools which were located near Zahl. When her mother died in 1951 at the age of 44, Agnes finished her teaching and went home to help take care of her younger siblings. She married John M. Monger of Alamo, ND on January 17, 1953 in St. Boniface Chapel, Grenora, ND. They lived on the Monger farm south of Alamo until March of 1955. When her children were all in school she worked at the Williston Herald, Williston School District # 8 office, and also tutored and taught music for District #8 schools. She was also very in- volved in the lives of her children where she served as a leader for 4-H, Cub Scouts, Blue Birds, and Jr. Catholic Daughters. She was a very active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and School. She was a volunteer church organist for 25 years and a volunteer pianist for St. Joseph’s School music classes and school programs. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Altar Society and Catholic Daughters; she was a chairperson for funeral dinners at church for 12 years and a former member of parish council. She was a cochairman for Blood Drives sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and a cochairman for Right to Life Month where roses were delivered to ba- bies born during the month of October. She also was in charge of the parish food pantry, a greeter at church, and a weekly church bulletin stuffer. She and her husband, John, were actively involved in the Williston Senior Citizens where they delivered meals for 15 years, until her health failed. She also played the piano for singing and programs at the Heritage Center. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary of Zahl and the American Legion Auxil- iary of Williston. She was also a former volunteer at Mercy Medical Center. Because her faith and church were so important to her, a highlight in her life was when she was able to make a pilgrimage to Fatima, Lourdes, and Rome. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. She loved volunteering, doing whatever she could to help others, and attend- ing all her grandchildren’s activities. Due to failing health, Agnes eventually had to give up everything that she loved to do, yet her prayer and faith life continued to be very strong. Agnes will always be remembered as a very devote wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a blessing to all the people who knew her. Agnes entered Bethel Home in May of 2008 when her husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She continued to be a resident there for the remainder of her life. Weep Not In Sorrow

Weep not in tears of sorrow because I’ve gone away,

But weep with tears of gladness for the peace I have today.

I know your hearts are heavy with sorrow that you bear. But God has called me home, my place is ready there.

My stay on earth’s completed,

my final rest is won I’ve received the richest blessing, to dwell with God’s own Son.
