    Islamic senior high school of Almaarif Singosari Malang usescurriculumsof Islamic senior highschooldecidedbyDepartmentofReligiousAffairs.Sinceacademicyear20042005, theschoolhasbeenusingcurriculumwhichisbasedonstudent'sability,nowcalledKTSP(KurikulumTingkatSatuanPendidikan). Based on researcher's observation, most students in the schoolunderstandArabic expressions though listening, reading andwriting, but theycannot speak Arabic fluently, although most of them are living in IslamicboardinghouseandarelearningArabicthere.

    This research used qualitative approach, and the type was classroomactionresearch.

    Research'sobjectivesare(1)toimprovestudent'sspeakingskillthoughmediabasedapproach,(2)toknowhowtoimplementmediabasedapproachinspeaking skill teaching, and (3) to know the effectiveness of mediabasedapproachinspeakingskillteaching.

    This research came to conclusion that teaching and learning processthoughmediabasedapproachiseffectiveinimprovinglanguageskillespeciallyspeaking, because many of student's gained high scores and they enjoyedlearning.

    There are suggestions for the school and it's Arabic teachers : (1)rearrange the objectives of Arabic lesson, based on need analysis, (2) prepareteachingmaterials,and(3)improveteachinglearningprocessthroughimprovingteachersqualityonmethodsandmedia.

    Madrasah Aliyah Almaarif Singosari Malang mengikuti kurikulumMadrasahAliyahyangditetapkanolehDepartemenAgamaRepublikIndonesia.Sejak tahunpelajaran 20042005,Madrasah inimenggunakan kurikulumyangbertumpu pada kemampuan siswa yang sekarang disebut KTSP (KurikulumTingkat Satuan Pendidikan). Mayoritas siswa di Madrasah tersebut mengertiungkapanbahasaArabmelaluimendengar,membaca,danmenulis,akantetapiberdasarkan pengamatan peneliti mereka tidak dapat berbicara bahasa Arabsecarakomunikatif,padahalmayoritasmereka tinggaldibeberapapesantrendikotaitudanjugamempelajari bahasaArabdidalamnya.

    Pendekatanpenelitianyangdigunakanolehpenelitididalampenelitianiniadalah pendekatan kualitatif. Adapun jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalahpenelitiantindakankelas(PTK).

    Tujuantujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan keterampilanberbicara siswa dengan pendekatan berbasis media, untuk mengetahui caraimplementasi pendekatan berbasis media di dalam pengajaran keterampilanberbicara, dan juga untuk mengetahui sejauh mana efektifitas pendekatanberbasismediadidalampengajaranketerampilanberbicara.

    Hasilpenelitianiniadalah:bahwasannyaprosesbelajarmengajardenganpendekatan berbasismediamempunyaiefektifitasdidalampeningkatansemuaketerampilanberbahasakhususnyadidalampeningkatanketerampilanberbicara,dan keberhasilan para siswa di dalam peningkatan kemampuan keterampilanberbicara dengan pendekatan berbasis media berada pada tingkat yang baiksekali sekira banyak dari mereka memperoleh nilai yang baik sekali danmerekapunsenangdenganpenggunaanpendekatanberbasismedia.

    Adapunsaransaranpenelitian bagiMadrasahAliyahAlmaarifSingosaridan guruguru bahasa Arabnya adalah: (1) merencanakan ulang tujuantujuanumum pengajaran bahasaArab yangsesuaibagiparasiswa, tingkatkebutuhanmereka, dan lingkungan pengajaran, (2) menyiapkan materimateri pelajaranyang sesuai dengan tujuantujuan dan lingkungan pengajaran, (3) lebihmemberdayakan para siswa di dalam pengajaran dengan mengembangkankemampuan para guru di dalam berbagaimetode pengajaran danmenyiapkanmediamediapengajaran.
