20TH ANNUAL AUSTRALASIAN SHARED SERVICES & OUTSOURCING WEEK | SYDNEY 2017

2017 SSOW PROSPECTUS T: +61 2 9229 1050 E: [email protected] W: www.sharedservicesweek.com.au

2017 Advisory board membersDear Colleagues,

Next year is a significant landmark for SSOW, which will be celebrating it’s 20th birthday in 2017.

To put that into context, when we first launched the event:

Tiger Woods at 21 years old became the youngest ever golfer to win the Masters

Microsoft becomes the worlds most valuable company valued at $261 billion dollars

Princess Diana and Mother Teresa pass away Mike Tyson bites Evander Holyfield's ear during

a match and is suspended from boxing Mars Pathfinder lands on Mars Dolly the sheep is the first cloned mammal Titanic became the biggest total box-office

Film ever in film history with more than $1bil

Much like the drastic change we have seen in the world since then, the event now is unrecognisable, both in terms of scale and content.

The very first event was, by all accounts, an incredibly niche gathering of professionals, with a primary focus on driving cost out of the business.

Fast forward to today, and the event brings together hundreds of shared service practitioners, with the focus increasingly shifting away from cost, and on to how to deliver greater value and drive innovation across the business at large.

While next year will be a celebration, it won’t be all about the party. Instead, the business of shared services will remain front and centre.

Like the SSO industry, our focus has moved away from numbers and shifted toward quality.

Ensuring we have the right people in the room and making sure they have the best experience possible is all we care about these days. We too have become more customer centric, which is why 2017 is all about the ‘experience’, rather than the ‘event’.

I look forward to seeing you there.
