Voordelen LIBISnet

• LIBIS volgt de internationale standaarden en de ontwikkelingen op het gebied van bibliotheekautomatisering op de voet.

• LIBISnet staat voor netwerking. De informatie over de bibliotheek is beschikbaar binnen een grote catalogus. De bibliotheekcollectie wordt daardoor veel beter bekend in de buitenwereld.

• De catalogisering van de boeken en tijdschriften gebeurt door de lokale gegevens toe te voegen aan de reeds aanwezige bibliografische beschrijving (shared cataloguing). Dit betekent een belangrijke tijdwinst.

Voordelen LIBISnet

• LIBISnet vraagt slechts beperkte hardware- en softwareinvesteringen aan zijn gebruikers. Een PC met internetverbinding volstaat. LIBISnet zorgt zelf voor de nodige servers (beheer, back-up enz.). Voor de ondersteuning is er stricto sensu geen informaticus nodig.

• De LIBIS-staf is hooggekwalificeerd en heeft meer dan 30 jaar ervaring met de ondersteuning van gebruikers en instellingen, met een eigen helpdesk en indien nodig ondersteuning ter plaatse.

• LIBISnet staat ten dienste van de aangesloten instellingen. Kwaliteit van dienstverlening primeert!
