STROKES: CHINESE CALLIGRAPHY AND ART

Strokes: Chinese Calligraphy and Art is a day-long competition wherein students from the various Chinese-Filipino schools will engage themselves in a friendly competition to showcase their skills and talents in Chinese calligraphy and art. The art competition will be an event open to elementary and high school students, wherein they are expected to produce works of art that exemplify the unique bond between both Filipinos and Chinoys. The calligraphy contest is open to high school students, wherein they are to highlight the beauty of the Chinese-Filipino tradition of calligraphy. It will be organized with the goal of uplifting the Chinese-Filipino culture through a display of skills, and secondly as an introduction to the Loyola Schools campus and Ateneo student life.

STROKES: HIGH SCHOOL JOURNALISM SEMINAR

Strokes: High School Journalism Seminar is a day-long, interactive seminar to enrich the skills of high school students in the field of journalism. The event gathers participating Chinese-Filipino schools in Metro Manila. Students will be treat-ed to speakers skilled in their field that will share stories of their knowledge, challenges and experiences. Topics include news, editorial and feature writing, copyediting, headlining, and lay-outing. Participants will also get to show off their talents through a series of writing activities in-volving the Chinese-Filipino culture. By the end of the program, participants will have a more in-depth knowledge of various skills in journalism, its viability as a career and a new-found appreciation for Chinese-Filipino culture.
